It's clean, quiet and awesome to drive, so it's no wonder the Nissan Leaf is the most-sold electric car in the world - more than 200,000 of these cars have sold around the world since 2011. Besides being easy and fun to drive, they're really cheap to operate and they're proving to be highly reliable too!

The only thing you really need to be wary of is the range per charge, which is around 100 km

for "Gen 1" versions of the car (our "Gen 2" cars can get around 140 km per charge). But even this is still heaps for driving around town. Most EV owners charge at home every night, at a cost of around $3, so you can save a lot on fuel costs too. There are more and more fast-chargers popping up around the city too, which you can use to get an 80% recharge in about half an hour.

Most of the public and fast charging stations are listed on PlugShare.com, so check it out before planning any longer trips. Our cars come with a portable charging cable you can use to charge from any regular 10 amp socket, at home or the office for example, or charge even faster from a caravan socket if you have one (or if you're staying at a holiday park).

We also supply an RFID tag you can use to get a fast recharge at Charge Net's fast charging stations (billed at cost at the end of your rental).
