MyCarYourRental is a good system in theory but I think as this owner has so many vehicles he operates he doesn’t keep up with things as well as he should. The MCYR customer support system is also non existent so don’t expect any help from them! They don’t have a phone number to call, only an email address and never respond so that is useless! Cars that are rented by owners on this website should at the very minimum have the following: 1) current Rego and COF 2) be cleaned between rentals both inside and out, 3) be properly maintained between rentals ie water and oil levels checked etc 4) full tank of gas 5) if renter pays an extra $60 for airport pickup and drop off that is what should be provided! I have rented cars all over the world including many times in Auckland. This was my first time using MCYR and it will go my last! It’s definitely a great idea and I was excited to give it a try. It was not much cheaper ($10 per day) than what I found elsewhere but this experience caused unnecessary stress and frustration when dealing with issues that should not have been my concern! I would not recommend using any of this owner’s cars until improvements are made as mentioned.
